âme : 10 years of sound

UK version : 2012 marks the 10th anniversary of one of the most exciting duets ever known electronic music these days: Soul. And to celebrate, Frank Wiedemann and Kristian Beyer decided to issue a live album recounting the 10 years of the most beautiful way ... From the beginnings of the Sonar Kollektiv classics released on Innervisions more recently, the two German offer a nice tour of horizon of their productions and remixes, which allow them to be regularly cited today in the charts and a variety. No need to remember the qualities of the DJ duo, as each could get to mix that has left an indelible mark on our eardrums ...

And to introduce the upcoming release of this live album, Innervisions on issued an EP with 3 songs in full version, part of the live, two remixes for Underworld, and UNKLE (buy here) ... All 80 tracks that make up these minutes have been reworked, and dusted for some, in order to achieve a coherent and taking live which includes much of the duo's biggest hits and some unreleased tracks ... Soul Live is a snorkeling in the world of two Germans, who always keep one foot in the past, but also an eye toward the future: in short, timeless music. Offering something for all fans ...

Français version : 2012 marque les 10 ans d’existence d’un des duos les plus excitants qu’ait connu la musique électronique ces derniers temps : Âme. Et pour fêter ça, Frank Wiedemann et Kristian Beyer ont décidé de publier un album live retraçant ces 10 années de la plus belle des manières… Des débuts sur Sonar Kollektiv aux classiques sortis plus récemment sur Innervisions, les deux allemands offrent un beau tour d’horizon de leurs productions et remixes, qui leur permettent aujourd’hui d’être régulièrement cités dans les charts divers et variés. Nul besoin de rappeler les qualités de DJ du duo, étant donné que chaque mix ayant pu arriver jusqu’à nous a laissé une trace indélébile dans nos tympans… Mais le fait est que le live est un exercice de style plutôt « nouveau » pour Âme, puisque ce n’est qu’en 2010 que l’on a pu entendre leur première performance dans ce registre, après 8 ans jalonnés de centaines de DJ sets à travers le monde. 

Et pour introduire la sortie prochaine de cet album live, Innervisions a publié un EP composé de 3 morceaux en version complète, qui font partie du live, dont deux remixes pour Underworld et UNKLE (acheter ici)… Tous les titres qui constituent ces 80 minutes ont été retravaillés, et dépoussiérés pour certains, afin d’aboutir à un live cohérent et prenant qui regroupe une bonne partie des plus grands succès du duo ainsi que quelques morceaux inédits… Âme Live est donc une plongée en apnée dans l’univers des deux allemands, qui gardent constamment un pied dans le passé, mais aussi un oeil vers le futur : musique intemporelle en somme. De quoi combler tous les fanatiques…

Seun Kuti – You Can Run (FaltyDL Remix)

New York’s FaltyDL has remixed Seun Kuti’s – son of the legendary Fela – ‘You Can Run’ for a forthcoming EP, From Africa With Fury: Rise Remixes. The EP comes well-timed: Kuti has been intimately involved with the recent political activism in Nigeria and is about to embark on a massive American tour with his band, Egypt 80; Falty’s remix finds him at his shuffling, patient best.
