L’équipe Robert Glasper Experiment et Patrick Stump présentent - "I Stand Alone", le dernier single à se hisser en tête de leur prochain Radio Black 2, qui vient de sortir le 29 Octobre.
Sur ce titre, Glasper maintient sa tradition de jazz fusion , hip-hop et R & B.
Pour ce deuxième volet de black Radio, Robert Glasper c'est bien entouré, on y retrouve notamment, Dwele, Jill Scott, Norah Jones, Snoop Dog, Anthony Joseph. Ce qui en fait un album incontournable du jazz contemporain pour cette année 2013.

The Robert Glasper Experiment team and Patrick Stump present - "I Stand Alone", the latest single to emerge ahead of their upcoming Black Radio 2, which comes out Oct. 29.
On this single, Glasper maintains the tradition of jazz fusion, hip-hop and R & B.
In this second part of Black Radio, Glasper Robert knew well surrounded, we find particularly Dwele, Jill Scott, Norah Jones, Snoop Dogg, Anthony Joseph.

Ondatropica is back

Ondatrópica est un groupe de musique latine aux inspirations frappées du son de Fela Kuti. Ils font leur retour cet été avec un single de 3 titres dont Chop ‘n’ Quench est la tête de gondole sur le label Soundway Records. Le groupe est loin d’être une bande d’amateur, il dispose d'environ quarante membres, dont plusieurs ont une longue histoire en tant qu'artistes de la cumbia et Latin Jazz. L’an dernier leur album surchargé de 26 titres partagés sur deux CD avait par la suite littéralement envahie les compilations, on leur souhaite le même succès pour ce mini projet de 2013.





Latin music supergroup Ondatrópica covering man, myth, legend Fela Kuti on this new single of theirs for Soundway Records. If you’re unfamiliar with this band, they just so happened to put out one of the most ambitious records in modern Latin music last year. The band features approximately forty members–many of whom have long histories as performers of cumbia and Latin Jazz.

Tony Allen & The Abayomy Afrobeat Orquestra

Tony Allen est encore là. Même à plus de 70 ans, il semble qu'il n'ait jamais arrêté le garçon. Cette fois, il est de retour, en collaboration avec l' Orquestra AbayomyAfrobeat pour un single prévu en Février (en espérant un album à venir).

Ce qui rend cette collaboration d'autant plus intéressante, ce sont les influences brésiliennes des 13 membres d'équipage originaire de Rio (ce qui est peut-être le plus notable est l'état brut, vocal robuste et le plein d’émotion apportée par 'Bnegao'). Ce projet a été enregistré en mai 2012 après la tournée de Tony Allen en Amérique du Sud.Dont vous pouvez regarder quelques images de cette nuit-là ci-dessous.

Tony Allen has been at it again. Even at over 70 years of age, it seems like there is no stopping the old boy. This time he is back, collaborating with the Abayomy Afrobeat Orquestra for a single due in February (and hopefully an album some time soon after).

What makes this collaboration all the more interesting is the Brazilian influences that the 13 strong crew hailing from Rio bring to the table (this is perhaps most noticable in the rough, rugged and emotive vocal brought by 'Bnegao').  Recorded last may after Tony Allen had been touring South America, and after a stint in the studio a version of Jorge Ben's 'Meus Filhos' reared its head. Incidentally you can watch some footage from that very night below.
